Pathways To Independence Holds Annual Walk-A-Thon

On Saturday, September 24, 2016, Pathways to Independence, Inc. held their Annual Walk-A-Thon at West Hudson Park.  Pathways to Independence provides job skills training and vocational opportunities for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, helping them achieve their fullest potential.  The organization’s facility is located at 60 Kingsland Avenue in Kearny.  Close to 200 individuals gathered at West Hudson Park to take part in the walk.  This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Walk-A-Thon and the organization’s 39th anniversary of providing support to adults with disabilities.  The Executive Director of Pathways, Alvin Cox, his staff, volunteers and consumers and their families led the walk through the park.  They were joined by community leaders, including Mayor Alberto G. Santos and Members of the Kearny Town Council, Carol Jean Doyle, Susan McCurrie, Marytrine De Castro and Richard Konopka, and numerous residents coming together to help raise funds for the organization.
