On Saturday, October 3, 2015, Pathways to Independence, Inc. held their Annual Walk-A-Thon at West Hudson Park. Community leaders, including Mayor Alberto G. Santos and Members of the Kearny Town Council, Carol Jean Doyle, Susan McCurrie and Marytrine De Castro took part in the Annual Walk-A-Thon with residents, Pathway to Independence consumers and their family and friends to raise funds for the organization. Pathways to Independence provides job skills training and vocational opportunities for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, helping them achieve their fullest potential. This year, close to 200 individuals gathered at West Hudson Park on a blustery autumn day to take part in the walk. Pathways to Independence has been in the West Hudson community for decades and this year marks its 38th anniversary of providing support to adults with disabilities.
