(KEARNY, NJ) – Mayor Alberto G. Santos announced today that the design for the Town Hall 150th Anniversary banners has been selected. Daniel Veloso, a third year Kearny High School Graphic Arts student and Graphic Arts instructor Joseph Domalewski collaborated on nine comprehensive banner designs for the Town’s 150th Anniversary Committee to choose from. On Sunday, March 12, 2017, the Town of Kearny celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by participating in the 44th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade organized by the United Irish Associations of West Hudson. While it was it was an extremely cold day, the weather didn’t stop marchers and spectators from participating in the annual event. The Parade began in Harrison and traveled along Frank E.

On Thursday, December 1, 2016 residents celebrated at the Annual Kearny UEZ Tree Lighting Festival outside Town Hall on Kearny Avenue. The festival has become a popular town-wide tradition and the kickoff of the holiday season in Kearny. The evening began at 5:30 p.m. with a concert on the steps of Town Hall featuring performances by the Kearny High School Ensemble, a choir ensemble of 6th graders from all of the Kearny Public Schools and members of the Next Step Dance Company.
