Kearny resident Stephen R. Koziel recently advanced to the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor of the Boy Scouts of America.  This achievement was the result of many years of scouting activities, which includes earning at least 21 merit badges, leadership positions and an extensive community service project.

KEARNY, NJ—Once again, Kearny residents have a great reason to get started on their Spring Cleaning as the immensely popular Annual KUEZ Kearny Town-Wide Yard and Sidewalk Sale returns Saturday and Sunday, May 2 & 3 from 9 to 4 p.m.  Participants will, as always, have an entire weekend to turn their seldom-used or long forgotten goods into some extra cash as part of the rain-or-shine event.

Reported Crimes in Kearny Remained Stable in 2014 and were at the second lowest level in 14 years

The Town of Kearny’s Uniform Crime Report Index for 2014 shows there were 1,289 reported crimes in 2014, essentially flat from the previous year’s number of 1,286.  These numbers mean that 2013 and 2014 were the Town’s lowest crime years in the past 14 years.  They also confirm the significant drops in crime that occurred from 2011 to 2012 when reported crimes fell by 18%.
