Mayor Alberto G. Santos, members of the Town Council and Kearny Police Chief George King held a swearing in ceremony for newly hired police officers
Kearny, NJ has been named a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation to honor its commitment to community forestry.
Mayor Santos would like to inform interested residents that exam applications for the civil service position of police officer in the Town of Kearny are now available. Residents can pick up applications in the Personnel Office at 410 Kearny Avenue or obtain an application online at www.state.nj.us/cscp/public_safety. The application fee is $35.00.
Popular Town-Wide Holiday Tradition Continues
TRENTON – Senior and disabled residents who qualify for a 2007 property tax reimbursement because of the recent increase in income limits for the Senior Freeze (Property Tax Reimbursement) Program now have until June 1, 2009, to file applications, Governor Jon S. Corzine announced today. The original deadline for the newly eligible applicants to file their 2007 applications was March 31, 2009.

The Kearny Public Library will join the New Jersey State Library, the New Jersey Library Association and libraries throughout the state to honor the legacy of Abraham Lincoln by participating in the Pennies for Peace Campaign during the month of February. Lincoln firmly believed in education, equality, opportunity and peace.
The Town of Kearny is proud and happy to congratulate Cheryl Olcheski for the honor of receiving a special proclamation from Kearny Mayor Alberto Santos for all her work with the Red Cross. Mayor Santos referred to Cheryl as a “point of light” for the town and its residents.
