Kearny, NJ –The Kearny Health Department sponsored its annual free Dog and Cat Rabies Clinic on Saturday, February 10, 2018.  The popular clinic was held at the Kearny Water Department Complex and, as in prior years, was well attended.  A total of 379 dogs and 27 cats were vaccinated.  The Kearny Health Department also issued 287 animal licenses (269 dog and 18 cat licenses) at the event.  ...

On Sunday March 11, 2012 Irish eyes were smiling at the 39th Annual West Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Under clear blue skies, thousands of people lined Kearny Avenue to enjoy the parade. This year Grand Marshall Lawrence Bennett and Deputy Marshall Michael O’Donnell led the march through Harrison, East Newark and Kearny.

On Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Town Council, Paul Silverman presented the Silverman Family Scholarship to Janine Migliaccio, a current student at the Culinary Arts Institute (CAI) of Hudson County Community College in Jersey City. Janine Migliaccio is a resident of the Town of Kearny and graduate of Kearny High School.

Letter from Mayor Santos Regarding the 3rd and 4th Installment 2011 Tax Bills and the 1st and 2nd Installment 2012 Tax Bills

Tax bills for the next four quarters were mailed to property owners in early August. Taxes for the 2011 third quarter are due by September 1, 2011. After September 1st, interest will be charged on delinquent amounts calculated from August 1st. The Tax Collector’s Office, located in the Town Hall at 402 Kearny Avenue, will be open until 7:00 pm on August 24th.
