Town of Kearny Mayor Alberto G. Santos today reminded local businesses about a partnership with Get Your Business Online with Google City Challenge a new initiative to help Kearny’s small businesses get online.

On Friday, January 3, 2014, the Town of Kearny held its Inaugural Ceremony and annual Reorganization Meeting. The elected officials were led into the Council Chamber by bagpiper Fran Raftery. Nicole Gouveia performed a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem and Reverend Nicholas J. Connolly offered the invocation.
On Thursday, December 5, 2013, hundreds of families celebrated at the Annual Kearny UEZ Tree Lighting Festival outside Town Hall on Kearny Avenue. The festival has become a very popular town-wide tradition and the kickoff of the holiday season in Kearny. The evening began at 5:30 p.m.
Mayor Alberto G. Santos is pleased to announce that on Saturday, December 14, 2013 the Town of Kearny in cooperation with North Hudson Community Action Corporation (NHCAC) will hold a workshop where trained facilitators will be available to assist Kearny residents who wish to enroll in the federal Healthcare Exchange. The session will be held in the Kearny Main Library, 318 Kearny Avenue, on the lower level from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.
On November 13, 2013, the new USS Juneau Memorial Center building in Kearny was dedicated. The Juneau Center will serve as home to the County OEM Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s new, climate-controlled evidence center.
Under bright blue skies, Kearny’s annual Halloween parade stepped off at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2013. After two years of weather-related cancellations, this year a beautiful autumn afternoon was perfect for the ghosts and goblins, superheroes and wild animals to parade up Kearny Avenue.
On Tuesday, October 22, 2013 Mayor Alberto G. Santos, Town Council members and community members joined the family of the late Deputy Mayor Frank M. Cardoza for a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony at the newly completed Frank M. Cardoza Park.
