Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in Kearny

On Sunday, March 13, 2016, the Town of Kearny celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by participating in the 43rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade organized by the United Irish Associations of West Hudson.  The Parade began in Harrison and traveled along Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard in Harrison, Central Avenue in East Newark and Kearny Avenue in Kearny, with a closing ceremony at Kearny Town Hall.  

Mayor Santos Of Kearny Announces Upcoming Civil Service Exam For Municipal Police Officer

Mayor Santos would like to inform interested residents that exam applications for the civil service position of police officer in the Town of Kearny will be available online July 1, 2016 to August 31, 2016.  Residents can submit an application and payment online at www.state.nj.us/csc.  Only online application will be accepted.  
 

Town Welcomes Newest Fire Captain

Kearny, NJ – On Tuesday, February 23, 2016, Kearny Mayor Alberto G. Santos and the Kearny Town Council held a swearing-in ceremony at Town Hall for Kenneth Bulger, the newest Fire Captain of the Kearny Fire Department.  Mayor Santos administered the oath as Captain Bulger’s wife and children proudly witnessed the ceremony and Kearny Fire Chief Steve Dyl presented the new captain his captain’s badge.

North Pole’s Most Popular Resident, Santa Claus Visits Kearny

On Saturday, December 12, 2015, after making his list and checking it twice, Santa made an early visit to town.  After being escorted along Kearny Avenue, Midland Avenue, and Davis Avenue by our Kearny Police and Fire Departments, Santa then made his way on stage at the Kearny High School Auditorium to meet and greet more than 300 children with candy canes, coloring books, crayons and a gift bag.
