Town of Kearny Celebrates Irish Cultural Heritage, Music and Dance: United Irish Associations of West Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Kearny, NJ – On Sunday, March 11, 2018, Irish eyes were smiling at the 45th Annual West Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  Under clear blue skies, thousands of people lined Kearny Avenue to enjoy the parade.  Organized annually by the United Irish Associations of West Hudson, the parade began in Harrison and traveled along Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard in Harrison, Central Avenue in East Newark and Kearny Avenue in Kearny, with a closing ceremony at Kearny Town Hall.

  • Due to the State of Emergency, Town of Kearny offices will be closed on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, except for essential services such as public safety personnel and employees involved in snow related functions. 
     
  • There is no Meals-on-Wheels distribution on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.  The Meals-on-Wheels program is expected to be back in service on Thursday, March 8, 2018.
     

Kearny Holds Annual Free Dog and Cat Rabies Clinic

Kearny, NJ –The Kearny Health Department sponsored its annual free Dog and Cat Rabies Clinic on Saturday, February 10, 2018.  The popular clinic was held at the Kearny Water Department Complex and, as in prior years, was well attended.  A total of 379 dogs and 27 cats were vaccinated.  The Kearny Health Department also issued 287 animal licenses (269 dog and 18 cat licenses) at the event.
